Normally the DvISE Service Layer carries out an automatic purging of the Tobit Archive System at 3:00am. The start time of this process can be configured within the DvISE Service Layer under »Configuration -> System -> autom. Purging -> Start purging daily at«.

In case you would like to start the purging process manually, please proceed as follows:

Novell NetWare
On the NetWare Console switch to the DvISE Service Layer screen and press key-combination »ALT-3«. This Hotkey opens a status display of the automatic purge. By pressing »ALT-1« the automatic purging process can be started.

Microsoft Windows und Linux
Within the DvISE Adminstrator switch to the »Configuration -> System -> autom. Purge -> Start purging daily at« menu and specify the hours of the current time. Example: the current time is 15:24. Specify a value of »15«.
If you now restart the »DvISE Service Layer« service, the DvISE Service Layer will start with the automatic purging process immediately.

Within the Tobit InfoCenter under »System -> DvISE -> Error messages« you can check if the automatic purging process has been carried out. Here you should see two entries with the following references:

  • Start purging Archive
  • Finish purging Archive

    Note:
    As long as the value corresponds with the current time (»15« in this example), the automatic purging will be carried out after every restart of the DvISE Service Layer.
